My mom was a substitute teacher at the elementary and middle schools I attended in southern California. She got to know a lot of the kids in my class and listened eagerly to any updates I shared when I got to high school. One kid my mom always thought a lot of got involved in drugs our sophomore year. I told my mom about his suspension and she sighed and said, “Oh, Cari – how did he even GET drugs?” Oh, Mom…any high schooler knows where to go. I did, and I was so clean I squeaked.
This week we learned how convenient it was for any high schoolers or any one who wanted to buy drugs near Pasco High – there was an “open air marketplace” teeming with drugs that the police brought down this week.
The Herald reported that no drugs were actually sold on the campus.
