Is the Broadmoor Outlet Mall on the rebound?

I stopped by the Broadmoor Outlet Mall yesterday (in the rain) for the first time in a couple months. Bought some sneaks at the Factory Brand Shoes store, and would’ve gone in to browse Van Heusen but the morning employee must’ve overslept … it was still closed at about 10:30 am.

But the most noticeable thing for me was the parking lot. It was filled with cars:

broadmoor-2

That’s more cars than I’ve ever seen at Broadmoor. Granted, most of them were parked close to Charter College, which doesn’t necessarily mean that the stores at Broadmoor are doing any better … but it’s a step in the right direction. With so many more people there on a daily basis, places offering food, beverages, quick conveniences, etc., would have a much better chance to do well.

Compare those photos to this one that I posted about two years ago on this blog:

It’s like night and day, isn’t it?

I had a ton of errands to run yesterday, so I didn’t have time to count how many storefronts are vacant. And I wish I had asked the gal inside the shoe store how business has been. But, on the bright side, Paper Factory is still open and the Children’s Museum seems to be doing well in its new spot, too.

Let’s hope more businesses follow the bigger crowds.
