Last summer I shared my thoughts on the struggles of the Broadmoor Outlet Mall and openly wondered how much longer it can stay open. Things haven’t changed for the better since then.
Paper Factory is set to close its doors at the end of this month – January 31, 2009. (Update: The store is closing on January 17.) Making retail matters worse is that the new owners of the outlet mall have rented out space to a college and a church. I certainly have nothing against education and faith, but it’s not likely that new tenants such as those will increase retail traffic to the outlet mall.
I have a feeling we may see Broadmoor Outlet Mall becoming something other than an outlet mall in the next year or two. I hope I’m wrong!
