Pasco Hosts Last Star Track Competition

After a six-year run, the Washington High School Track and Field Championships — more commonly known as Star Track — are done in Pasco. I wrote about the WIAA’s decision last month and its impact on the Pasco economy. Not good news for local businesses.

This past weekend, I took the kids out to Edgar Brown Stadium and we got there shortly before the day’s events came to an end. They had a good crowd on hand. As far as local schools are concerned, the Kamiakin girls finished 3rd overall at the 3A level, and the Richland girls were 3rd overall at the 4A level. You can see the full results on John Crawford’s site if you’d like.

Meanwhile, I’ve posted a couple Star Track photos on Flickr. Enjoy!
